Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner!!

Hello there peeps,

Yes it has been 3 weeks since i last blogged, but as i'm sure your all aware (by reading my Brother's blog!) I have been on my annual ski holiday, which i will blog later!

Now my last blog (the pictures!) was dated the 27th March, now the last picture i loaded up was of the Dirty Dancing sign and i as promised, i was to blog about it.

Well Saturday 24th March i was up fairly early for me and my Aunty Jan were going to London to see the Theatre performance of Dirty Dancing. Kieron dropped me off at my Aunty Jan's House for 9.30, as we were catching the train from Yardley Wood at 10.05 to get us into Town.

Mark kindly dropped us off at the train station and within a couple of minutes the train arrived. We got off at Snow Hill and decided to get a cup of Coffee. Just outside Snow Hill station is a Starbucks (i'm not a big fan of their coffee and decided to play safe with a hot chocolate). Our train was at 11.15, we had about half an hour so we took our time.

Once getting back into the station we met up Anna and Jackie (some of Aunty Jan's work colleagues) who were coming with us to see the show, they would be 12 of us all together but some people were making their own way down. We hoped on our train and within a couple of minutes were off!

At Solihull station a few more of our crew jumped on (although i can't remember names 'cos i wasn't really introduced!!). We were having a chat and a laugh and before i knew it we were going past the new Wembley Stadium, it looked magnificent, standing on the hill looking down on everything - fantastic!!

By 1.00pm we were in Marylebone, we decided we would get a taxi from the station to Covent Garden (where the theatre was) as it would be easier! So me, Aunty Jan, Jackie and Anna got in one cab and the other girlies got in another. It only took 10 mintues, i was scrambling in my bag for my purse, when the most horrific thought and the most terrifying feeling i've ever had. Jackie told me my face had gone shock white, it wasn't long before i was in tears!!!!!!

When me and Aunty Jan booked our train tickets, there was a discount on tickets going from Snowhill to Marylebone, it was £5 each way. However, me and Aunty Jan were stopping over at Irene's and coming back on Sunday, so we could only buy a single ticket. So i then did some searching and i found another single ticket for coming home for £10. Aunty Jan's tickets were on her phone (they send them to you buy txt!) and i had tickets come through the post (you can see where this is going can't you!!!)

Yes, yes alright i forgot our return tickets!!!!! I was so mortified, i thought my Aunty was going to kill me. So there i am in the middle of London in tears with about 8 people surrounding me, i looked at Aunty Jan and i told her i had forgotten them! She smiled and said that it would be alright and we would sort something out. Everyone put their arm around me and told me it was something everyone does - put i still felt like a right prat!

So, we decided to get something to eat, we soon found a little cafe/restaurant and got a table. Everyone only had light meals 'cos we were running out of time as the show started at 2pm!!!
The meal was nice (even though the service was appauling!), me and Aunty Jan shared a pizza!!

We paid up and then made our way down the road to the Aldwych theatre. We could see the sign miles away as it was so sparkley!!! We met up with a few others who were coming along they were all freindly and we made out way inside the theatre, we on the floor and about 9 rows back, it was such a great view!!!

And then the lgiths faded and the music started! I was so excited, the music was brilliant, the band were actually under the stage so you couldn't see them! If you love the film go and see the show it is really really good.

It was nearly 6pm by the time we go out, i rang Irene to see where see was and she said she would meet us in which ever restaurant we would be in. We found a very random and weird restaurant called the Pandemonium. It was like walking into a theatre/moulin rouge place and we sat at a table which was on a balcony looking over the whole restaurant. It was really good though, the food was excellent (a little exspensive - but hey!). But sadly Anna and Jackie had to make their way back to Marylebone as they needed to catch their train home. We said goodbye and we sat at a table downstairs so Irene could see us. Suddenly the doors swung open and this very loud voice shouted "SELENA!!!" i turned around and there was Irene smiling over at me!

We had such a great night, we drank loads and we each had a lovely dessert. It was nearly 2am, Irene went to the loo while me and Aunty Jan was still talking. It must have been 10 mintues before we realised that Irene hadn't come back from the toilets. So i decided to investigate, i went to the loo and there was Irene on the floor, in a heap not looking pretty. She was pissed as a fart, it was so funny!!!!! I got Irene's mobile and looked up the first taxi number i could find so that i could get her home, i then went to explain to Aunty Jan what was happening, she burst out laughing!! I got a glass of water from one of the waiters and went back to give to Irene. Soon the taxi was outside so i lifted Irene up, and bascially dragged her out of the toilets through the restaurant and outside and then flung her into the cab.

It was about 20 minutes and we were outside Irene's flat. Aunty Jan grabbed all the bags, I hoisted Irene out of the cab, she had got some money in her hand so i gave that the taxi man and i carried to drag Irene to her flat.

I was still laughing, Aunty Jan got Irene to her bed whilst i got the sofa bed sorted (i've done this thing many times before - so i class myself as a pro!!).

Sunday morning it was about 10am, i went into Irene and she was already awake, smiling and she had a cup of coffee in her hand (now how she walked into the kitchen, which is off the living room, wothout disturbing me i will never know!!!)

Irene soon had breakfast on the go, and we sat on the sofa bed having some really good girlie chats!!! Although i still had to sort out the whole mess of my tickets. Previously i had been on internet on my phone to get my booking confirmation number of my email. I phoned up Virgin and spoke to a very annoying woman, who didn't speak English and who mumbled!!!

I was told even though i had proof of my booking and proof i was the one who paid for the tickets, i would still need to pay for 2 new tickets which would now cost me £80 for the both of us!!! I was not happy!!!

So Irene took me down the road to get my email printed off and suggested i show it at Euston station. By now it was 2.00pm and we needed to get the train at 3pm. So while i was getting my booking form printed Aunty Jan called for a taxi. It soon arrived and we said our goodbyes to Irene.

It took us 30mins to get to Euston, we walked in and we couldn't find anybody working for Virgin trains, so me and Aunty Jan decided to walk down to the platform. The train was already there waiting and there was noone there checking tickets. So we decided to get on and they'll just have to chuck us off!!! We weren't going to pay anyone!!!!!

It was a good hour and before long my luck ran out, the ticket man was coming and he didn't look very happy. Thankfully for me, my Aunty Jan is very persuasive and he looked at my booking form and he said it was fine as long as someone was at New Street with our tickets. Well that was no problem as Mark was going to pick us up from New Street anyway!!

I couldn't believe it!!! We were laughing so much, and it wasn't long before i saw New Street coming into view. We pulled up and Mark was there ready, but the ticket guy never came, so we thought sod it, and we went home!

Kieron was happy to see me, and we spent the evening watching a bit of telly.

Well that's that for now i will blog my skiing trip when i have more time!!!
