One Foot In The Snow!!!

Hello there dear readers,

Well another exciting week has passed by, the weeks seem to be zooming by, i don't like it!!

Anyway on with the blog, so .....

Last Wednesday evening, me, Rosey and Emily went on a Girly Drive. Rosey & Em picked me up at 8 and we went on our way. We went through our usual places like Solihull, Knowle and so forth and we had a great time, chatting about work and uni, and Emily plugged in her Zen so we had a girly sing-a-long as well!!

After about an hour Emily decided she was thirsty so we popped along to the Reservoir (after Rosey going in a massive circle to get back there!!!)

We all ordered desserts as we felt a bit peckish!Me and Rosey had chocoloate Bread & Butter pudding, which was devine and Emily had a treacle pudding, which she said was lovely but it looked rather sickly!!!

We had some drinks and played on one the games machines, it has many different mini games, first we played a word game (a bit like Boggle) and then we played spot the difference. We had a laugh and soon our glasses were empty so we decided to pop along to Tesco's grab some sweets and go and throw them at Dan (like me and Rosey had done the previous week!) We bought starbursts and Werthers Originals. I phoned dan to pre-warn him that we were on our way, and he was delighted when we arrived.

We sat in Dan's living room what had started as a little play flight with startbursts being thrown and caught turned into a massacre of demolition. There were sweets everywhere!!

We helped Dan clear up and made our way home as it was getting late. It was a good night out and i'm sure Rosey will be organising another one pretty shortly!!

Last Thursday, as i am sure you are all aware, it snowed. But not just a couple of cm's, this was a proper snowfall - 5 inches!!!!

Getting to work was a pain in the backside, at first i decided not to go in, but then i thought well i'll have a go, but if the traffic is really bad then i'm staying put!! So me & Kie left the flat, and he kindly dropped me off at my bus stop, after leaving the flat at 7.35 i made it into the office at 9.30 ( i knew i should have stayed at home!).

Getting back home wasn't too bad, i normally get back for 6.35 and i made it at 6.50!!

Ahhh Friday, at last the weekend was nearly upon us and this was the day the snow caught us out!!

At about 2pm Dave noticed that it had started to snow really badly so he decided to let us go at 4pm so that we could get out of the weather and get home. So i left the office dead on 4, got to the 50 bus stop at 4.15 and waited.......

and waited and waited and waited and waited!!!

The 50 is usually very good, it arrives every 5 mins, but not today!! It arrived at 4.50. I was soaking wet from standing out in the snow (the bus shelter was full!) but i didn't care at that point as i was on my way home......


WRONG!!!!!!!


It was terrible getting home, everyone was having trouble with their cars and vehicles, some people were sliding all over the place. Hats off to our bus driver, he kept our bus in control (thank God!). Moseley was the worst, i think we were stuck there for about 1 hour and 15mins.

So at 7.30 the bus was just arriving at the Maypole, i rang mum to let her know what had happened with the thought "just a little bit more and i'll be home....."


WRONG!!!

The bus stopped, and the driver told us that he had been instructed by Travel West Midlands that the service was closing down!!!!

ARGHHHHHH!!


I had to walk up Bells Lane, which from the Maypole to my flat is perhaps a bit over 2 miles (i'm not entirley sure!!). Gareth was about to take mum shopping (apparantly wythall and so forth was clear) and he told me he had to put some petrol in his car but when he had done that he would come and get me (Awww thanks Gaz!). Gaz told me to try ringing Kieron, so that if he got held up at the garage Kie had a chance of getting me out of the cold!

I eventually got hold of Kie who siad he would come and get me. I didn't do too badly getting up Bells Lane but finallyKie arrived. Just as i got in the van Gaz rang me to see where i was, so i told him to carry on to Tesco's.

I eventually got home and it was 8pm. I was a little bit miffed but at least i was warm again - stupid bloody weather!!!

Saturday Kieron wanted to go to Town to look for some new games, so off we went. We were only there an 1 hour, he didn't see anything interesting so we came home. Nan & grandad popped up for a bit, and so did mum.

Me and Kieron had been invited round to Steve & Natalie's house, so we arrived at about 6pm, Steve's brother Andy and his girlfriend were there too. We had a lovely evening, filled with booze, food, music and card games, but it was almost 1.30am before we left!!!

I was very tired, we dropped Andy and Becky home as they had got a taxi before, and i finally got into bed at 1.50am!!

Sunday, was a lazy day, went to Tesco's to do the shopping and then sat and watched TV. Then finally i went to my nans for tea.


It's nearly the weekend again and i've decided i'm goign to have a quiet one (unless i get bored!)
