I'm A Team Player!

Hello there fellow blogees!

Well time for my weekly update.....so

Last Monday work was good, i spent most of the day getting ready and putting together the final part to a planning submission we had ready to go. It took up much of my day which was great, but unfortunately due to a computer/printing error. I didn't get all of it printed and finished but the majority of it was done.

Monday evening me and Kieron decided to have a go at the Trivial Pursuit: Lord of the Rings Edition which i had bought at the weekend. The questions range from really easy to fairly hard, although some you would have to know everything there is to know!

Kieron eventually won (although i didn't do as badly as i thought i would!) and it did make us laugh.

Tuesday at work i finished my planning application stuff and i got it all bounded together and when Peter came in later he took it up to the planning office! The afternoon was quiet so i spent my time upstairs sorting and tidying up for the lads.

That evening me and Kieron just watched tv, we watched the new Hell's Kitchen which is pants!

Wednesday went flying by at work and i don't think i did anything! That evening i dropped by my mates house as it was her birthday and i had a card and a prezzie for her. However she has just recently qualified as an air stewardess and is now up in Nottingham so i left her prezzie with her mum and a good old catch up!

When i got home Kieron's mum and dad had popped round for a bit which was nice they had a cup of tea and a biscuit and they left at 9pm.

Thursday at work was just the same old stuff. I met up with my mate Becky for a drink over at the Actress & Bishop. She's 5 months pregnant and i hadn't seen in her for ages, so it was really nice to catch up with her and have a good gossip like we used too.

Thursday evening Kieron played on his xbox and i sat and updated my Sony mp3 player. We also had another go at Trivial Pursuit, i did alot better this time round although Kieron still won!

Friday was a very random day. As i was walking to work i got Kieron his new game 'Two Worlds'(which should have come out last week but was delayed!). I got to work and we all carried out our daily office tasks until 12.30pm!

We all packed up our things and left the office as we were going on our first Team Bonding afternoon with Armstrong Burton. We made our way to Middleton Hall which is not far from Drayton Manor Park. We arrived 1pm and had a little look round as we were the first to arrive. But not long later Armstrong Burton came and joined us.

It was a bit nervous at first meeting 50 other people for the first time, but everyone was really nice and friendly. We all tucked into some lunch which had been provided before being seated down in the main hall.

We were given our instructions and then put into our teams. The idea behind the day was that we had to work out who was the rightful heir to the estate. To do this each team had to complete the four tasks that were set out and were then given a clue. At the end of the day the clues would lead us to the location of the last will which declared who was the rightful heir!

There were 8 teams with 5-6 people in each. In my team there was Derek Burton (the boss!), Janet (his PA) and two other lads who were a good laugh! I was then chosen as the team leader (Oh great!).

Our first activity was we had to navigate to members of our team (who were blindfolded) through a maze.

The second task we were put with another team and we had to carry a bucket filled with tennis balls and then tip the balls into another bucket but we could only do this by using the ropes on the bucket (so we had to carry the bucket by the ropes and tip using the ropes) and some people were blind folded so we also had to navigate them aswell!

The third task was each team had to walk up and down the lawn but on two wooden planks (one leg on each plank!) This was very funny and this was also where my team leadership came into play. We weren't very good at first until i started counting to get us into some sort of rhythm!

We all had a cup of tea and a piece of cake for a quick refreshment and then it was onto the final task. We had to cross "the swamp" by building a bridge with tyres, every member of the team had to cross it and you couldn't touch the swamp otherwise you havd to start from the beginning! Again i lead the way and we finished in no time!

The clues at the end were very simple and we found the will in no time. So with the day completed Derek bought us all a drink and then we made our way home.

That evening Kieron played on his new game, i decided to play on my organ as it had been a long time since i played it.

Saturday i got up and went into Solihull as me and Emily had sneakily ordered a photo to be blown up to poster size and put in a frame for Rosey's going away prezzie. So i went to Max Spielman and collected it and made my way home. They hadn't put it in the frame so i did that back at the flat with Kieron's help!

I then popped down to see my mum and nand and grandad as usual although i only stayed for an hour as a) mum wasn't feeling too well and b) me and Kieron were going for a carvery with Kieron's mate,Tom, from work.

We went to the Plume and Feathers on the Stratford Road, me and Kieron sat and had a pint as we were a bit early but it wasn't long till Tom arrived. We had a little chat before going through and getting our grub.

It was a really nice carvery, i had Turkey and Beef and the lads had a bit of everything. Sadly we had to cut it short as Tom had other plans that evening so we said toodily pip and off we went.

Later that evening i met up with Rosey, Dan, Emily and Jim at the Reservoir. Rosey had come back up from Gloucester Uni and we presented her with the picture! She really loved it and couldn't make up her mind where it would go in her bedroom!

We had a good laugh and a good catch up as well, but had to leave as Emily had work the next day (although it was to be her last shift!)

Sunday was a nice chilled out day. In the morning we had breakfast and Kieron played on his xbox. We went and did our weekly shop at 12pm, came back and unloaded everything and then went down to Kieron's mum and dad's for sunday lunch. We sat outside in the garden whilst the dinner was being cooked and had a nice chat. Maria had done chicken with lots of roasties, gravy, peas and mash! It was delicious

After dinner we let our food go down before tucking in to some apple pie and custard. Me and Kieron had another drink before going abck home to the flat.

That afternoon Kieron invited Steve round so he could have a look at Two Worlds and then i eventually went down to my nans for tea as usual!

And that's it for now, see you next week!
