If I Ever See Goosewing Grey Again........D'oh!

Hello there peeps

I'm sorry for the delay in blogging but last week i was off from work and therefore spending my time wisely and therefore delaying me in blogging!

My last blog left you Wednesday 18th July so i shall carry on from there (if i can remember!). So Thursday 19th July was a quiet day at work but i was looking forward to that evening i was seeing my good old chums Rosey, Dan, Emily and Jimbob!

I told a few blogs ago that Rosey and Emily were both 21 this year, Rosey had a surprise party but we had done something totally different for Emily - we made her a video! A kind of 'This Is You Life' thing. We have been making this video for MONTHS!!

I would say from May up until when the guys went away we have been doing something towards this video, so all those times i said i hadn't been doing anything - well i lied, i had!! But i obviously couldn't tell you incase Emily read it on here!!!!

Anyway so Thursday evening was the premier! We all arrived at 8pm, Jim had brought snacks and drink and Dan provided us with glasses and dishes and Popcorn!!! So we sat down and played the Video, Emily had no idea what Dan was putting on until it started and she was laughing within seconds!! We had a great night and Emily loved the prezzie (thank god!), although time was ticking on and i had to go so i could get up for work!

So Friday which was (as i'm sure you'll agree!) the wettest, horrible day ever!!! Apparantly we had a month's worth of rain in just one day! Anyway work was quiet, and everyone was miserable because of the weather so good old Dave decided we could go at 4pm instead of 5pm incase we got caught in the traffic (which was bound to happen!!). I was quite lucky i got on my bus about 4.20pm and the traffic was moderatley light and i got home just gone 5pm, which totally shocked Kieron when he got home at 6pm.

That evening we had a bottle of wine and watched a couple of dvd's as there was not alot else to do.

Saturday was a good day, i had previously bought an ab roller from Argos and it wouldn't got together properly and i thought they had drilled some holes in the wrong places, so i took it round to Gaz to see if he could help. After he had had a look at it he took it apart and managed to sort it out for me (never let a woman do a man's job!!) but it was weird and difficult to use so we took it apart (again) and took it back to Argos and i exchanged it for some exercise steps which are fab and strangely fun to use!

We went back to the flat for a bit and Gaz played on the xbox with Kieron but he had to leave as he was going to a bbq but i would be seeing him later as it was one of the skiing crew's 21st. We had been invited to Sophie Lake's and her boyfriend Grant's joint 21st birthday at Rubery British Legion. I got a lift down to Dad's for about 7.30pm and Gaz would met us there as he was driving.

We got to the party for about 8.30pm and we were soon greeted by Sophie who was thrilled to see us, she introduced me to some of her friends who were really nice. The disco was soon underway and the drinks were flowing. Jon (Rosie's boyfriend) was hilarious, he got drunk really quickly, which was classic entertainment!!!

We had some grub, and we sang happy birthday but the evening was finally at an end. We left at 1am and poor Andy and Lorraine were still trying to get stuff in their car! As soon as i got home i went straight to bed!!

Sunday i didn't really do alot we did the food shopping and that was about it. I went down to nan's as usual for tea. It was also mum's birthday, me and Gaz had no idea what to get her so decided on taking her shopping one weekend. Later that evening Mum texted me to let me know about her flight as she was coming home from a week in Majorca, and me and gaz had said we would pick her up from the airport although her flight had been delayed by 30mins. We went back to Gaz's were i dropped off my car and then we headed over to the airport, we had just reached the Coventry Road when mum texted me to say she had landed and was getting her luggage.

The airport was still chaotic with Police as they were still on alert after the incodent at Gatwick airport a couple of weeks ago, after barging stupid people out of the way we parked up, grabed mum and were on the move again. Mum was telling us of her holiday and it sounded like she had a lot of fun. We got back home and i carried on back to my flat where i went straight to bed.

Ahhhhh Monday my first day off - and i had a nice lie in. We decided that we weren't going to do alot, Kieron was on his xbox for most of the day and i played on my organ. We watched some tv and Kieron invited his friend Jim up for the evening.

Tuesday we went over to B&Q, we got some picture hooks and we got a new curtain rail and light fitting for the bedroom and then we quickly popped into Solihull to get some netting. We got home and Kieron put some pictures we had in the spare room, and we did the light fitting in the bedroom. For the rest of the day i watched some dvd's while Kieron played on his xbox.

Wednesday we decided we needed to paint the kitchen as last time we painted the paint didn't go on very well and left smears and smudges. So we tidied most stuff out of our way and put sheets on the floor and started. We decided to go a little bit lighter than before to brighten it up a little. I hadn't done very much painting and my phone rang, it was Gaz. He was really bored and wondered what we were doing, as soon as i said we were painting the kitchen he was ringing the doorbell before i knew it!!

As i was painting away a sudden wave of horror grew over me........

***bit of info***

I work for an Architect's practice and when we do schemes and so forth we provide details of pretty much everything, we have to do specifications so that the entire team know's what should be done and in these specifications (and listed on our drawings) are details of colours. Now out of our Client's to two biggest culprits are Segro (formally known as Slough Estates) and Selco Trade Centres, both of which we do many warehouses and industrial units for and they always quote 'Goosewing Grey' (they do have 'Merlin' and 'Raven' grey as back-ups!). Goosewing Grey on every bloody drawing or specification or data sheets - it's everywhere!!! I said to the guys at work (who also get annoyed with Goosewing Grey) that if i ever see or hear Goosewing Grey i'll go mad!!!

***End of info, back to blog***

....... I had painted my kitchen GOOSEWING BLOODY GREY!!!!!

Kieron and my brother thought this was hilarious, but we carried on regardless. It took us over an hour with doing a couple of extra coats but we got it done. After cleaaring up Gaz helped Kieron on Forza Motor Sport for the xbox, you can create your own designs and colours for your cars, some of them are REALLY good and it's not very easy to do at all. Kieron was trying to put 'Hot Rod's' colours on to a Lambourghini Countach and Gaz helped him finish it and i must admit they did it really really well!

Gaz left about 6pm and we just chilled out afterwards.

Thursday was a good day, we decided we were going to Warwick Castle and because we decided to do that, it tipped it down! We got to Warwick Castle about 9.45am and waited in the car as it didn't open until 10am. It was raining lightly while we waited but as soon as we stepped out of the car the heavens opened, whilst walking up to the castle we got soaked. We got our tickets and headed for the gift shop as i had had a brillaint idea that they would sell an umbrella (which they did and it's a really good one as well!) so armed with our umbrella we stepped out and walked down to the main part of the castle, we went all round the 'living areas' of the castle including the main hall, we visited the dungeons (which were creepy!), we went to see the birds that do the falconry display, although we missed them doing it and we also did this Ghost Alive thing you go around the tower and actors jump out at you and tell you the story of whoever it was who was murdered. It was ok, it was more funny than scarey!!! We were there for most of the day and weather did get a little better!

When we got back Gareth stayed and played on the xbox with Kieron and then left as he was gong to the pub as usual! That evening i too was going to the pub, i met up with Rosey, Dan and Emily at the Reservoir. We had a good catch up we were there until 11pm but sadly we had to head off as Emily had work the following morning. We said our goodbyes and i headed off until i noticed the signs telling me they had shut off the road going past the reservoir as it had flooded due to the weather so i carried on going towards Solihull/Cheswick Green, eventually there's a road on the left called Lady Lane and that brings you past the Red Lion in Earlswood so it was no problem.

Friday was an exciting day as we were doing a Cinema Marathon, Gaz came up to the flat about 11.30 and we headed over to the AMC in fiveways, it's a really big cinema with 12 screens and they are all very good size screens as well. We were going to watch Transformers, me and Kieron had cheated a little and had already seen it on copy but we wanted to see it at the cinema aswell as it was really good. Gaz really enjoyed it, i think it took him back to memories of his childhood. So after Transformers we went to see the Simpsons Movie. That was really funny and i can't believe how much stuff they were allowed to get away with in the film, it was certainly aimed more at older children and adults.

After the cinema we were hungry and called in to Maccy D's on the way home, Gaz didn't stop long as he was going to an engagement party. That evening i played on my organ for most of the night whilst Kieron was on his xbox.

So Saturday and the week had flown by i had my haircut and then went down to mum's as usual and saw nan and grandad. We had our usual glass of wine and cake. We had a good natter all afternoon and we left about 5pm.

I got back to the flat and Kieron was doing tea. He had been down to Sainsbury's to get some of their chicken tikka wraps off their deli counter so we had them with some rice, which was yummy! That evening Kieron's friend Alex called in for a bit as he has just bought himself an Audi A4 (yes i know you'll be jealous Gaz!). It's light blue and it's an 04 plate, very nice! He didn't stay long as he had to get back to his girlfriend.

Sunday and my last day before i went back to work (i was not impressed!). My dad texted me to tell me that he and nan were going to Pete Whittles 60th birthday and wouldn't see me later - in a way this made me feel better as i had more time to myself.

Me and Kieron went and did the food shopping, and while we were there Kieron looked at the dvd's and decided to get The Number 23. We got home and had some lunch. We then sat down with a couple of beers and watched the film. It stars Jim Carrey and it is one of his best serious roles i've seen him in.

It's a major conspiracy that the number 23 is the sign of the devil (2/3 = .666), and that basically it can be found anywhere, in dates, names everything. Jim Carrey is a guy that reads this book all about the number 23 and he staarts becoming obsessed with it. There is a really good twist at the end so if you get the chance to watch it - DO!!!!

For the rest of the day i watched some F.R.I.E.N.D.S episodes and Kieron invited his friend Steve round.

An that was end of my holiday, so i shall leave it there for now peeps!!
