Goodbye Eratic Pink, Hello Calming Grey.

Hello there people,

Another week has passed and as i sit here at work typing this i'm thinking "what the hell am i going to tell them?".

I will start last Saturday when i took mum to Crufts. I used to work for a boarding kennels called "Wildrose Kennels" in Wythall and the lady (Norma) who owns it, breeds and shows Afghans. Every year i used to go with Norma to shows and events including Crufts.

Every year since leaving the kennels i go back to Crufts to watch Norma and to show my support, and i took mum as a little treat as she hadn't been to Crufts in years!!! I picked mum up about 9.15 and we set off. We arrived at the NEC at 9.50, i found somewhere to park and we went in. The place was swarming with people, but i managed to grab a staff meember and asked them were Hall 4 was (their always in the same place!!). After much wandering around hall 4 trying to find Norma a familiar voice called out to me, it was my mate Mandy (who is the kennel manager) we had a quick chat as Mandy was showing some people around, but Mandy told me where Norma was. I soon found her and she was delighted to see me, i also said hello to her daughter Min, we were great friends when i was at the kennels, and i haven't seen her in ages (as she lives in Kent!).

We sat watched the classs that was being shown and then Norma took me to see her dogs, they were pleased to see me too!!!

after a good chat i left Norma so i could take mum round to see more of Crufts, we went down into Hall 5 were all the stalls and stands are selling everything related to dogs!!! And then i showed her round the Discovery dogs. Basically there is a little kiosk of every breed of dog around the world and they always have that dog (or sometime spuppy!) on show. We went to the minature Daschunds, the lady there was really friendly and i took a photo of her dog, we went to the Rottweillers, salukis, St Bernards and finally the Great Danes (they were so cool!)

After having a good laugh, we made our way back to see Norma go into her class with Poppy, She did really well and came 2nd. Unfortunatly it was time for us to go so i quickly said goodbye to Norma and we made our way back to my flat were Nan and Grandad were waiting for us.

Gaz also popped up for a bit and we sat and watched Ghost Rider.

Sunday was just a usual Sunday, i sat a did nothing and then i went down to my nans for tea.

Then last week not alot happenend, work has been boring so i will cut to Saturday just gone. Me and Kie got up fairly early as Kie needed to go to Kings Heath o pay some money in, the traffic though was horrendous. But we managed it!

We quickly called in at mums because her battery on her car keep going flat and kie was going to have a look at it for her. We then popped down to the chippy as we were starving, kie went home and i went back to my mums to see nan and grandad. We had a good natter but before i knew it is was time to go home. I arrived back to the flat, Kie had invited round a couple of his mates Jim and Mark who he hasn't seen for ages, they sat and played on the computer all night, i didn't mind although i did want a quiet night!!!!!

I sat and watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (I love that film) with a beer and a chinese, you can't get better than that!!

Sunday was a fairly busy day being Mother's Day (I hope none of you forgot!!), i bought my mum some make-up. Kie's dad, Tony, came up in the morning to help Kie apint the Kitchen and the Hall. For those of you who haven't seen the flat the kitchen was fluorescent pink like this:

It only took them 45 minutes to do the kitchen, which i thought was impressive, and its now a soothing blue/grey colour, a bit like this maybe a bit more grey!

So whilst the boys were painting, i decided to save time and go shopping to Tescos' all by myself *plays dramatic music* I didn't do to badly actually, from leaving mine to coming back it took me 1 & 20mins.

I got back to the flat and the guys had finished the kitchen and were about to set up in the hall, which was Magnolia but now a nice warm, creamy yellow. So i decided to get out of their way and went with my brother down to my nans to giver her her flowers for Mothers Day, she lved them and was really pleased to see us. We stayed for about 15mins before heading back home where mum had a cooked a lovely chicken sunday dinner - delicious!!!!

I stayed about an hour before heading back to the flat. Tony had already left, and the hall looked great. I sat and watched tv and then helped kie cook some Bolognaise sauce, before going back to nans for tea, where i was in for a bit of surprise!!!

I got settled and nan came in and told me dad had bought her the best Mother's Day present and did i want to see it, being naturally nosey i said yes and she led me into the verranda and sitting on the stool, were my ski boots and my brand new ski blades!!!

****QUICK EXPLANATION*****

For my 21st birthday dad asked me if i wanted my own Ski's or blades, i eventually decided and chose blades. When dad went to California he looked for some there but they didn't have any, so he said he would wait until nearer the end of the season to get me my blades, hoping they would be slightly cheaper. The wait was up.

****END OF EXPLANATION****

Dad had gone up to my mums to borrow my boots so he could get the settings on my blades correct so that when we go in two weeks time i don't have to mes around with them! I was so excited they are Solomons (which are excellent) and they look the biz, click here to have look at them!!

When Gaz arrived, i told him the same story as nan did me, when he saw them he laughed and said how cool they were, he even said that i might be slightly quicker than him on hte straights, but we will see!!!

I think that i'm aout up-to-date with things so i will leave it there, for now

Cheerio

Things Can Only Get Better

Hello there people,

Well after i left you last week with me bored to tears, things actually started cheering up. Last Wednesday was a very exciting day at work because we had a power cut. At 11am all power that flowed through our building stopped and it stopped in buildings up the road and round the corner. The telephones were dead, my fax machine had stopped, i couldn't even make a cup of tea (that's just outrageous).

So i went and sat upstairs with the guys, they were complaing about all the work that would be lost (and i don't blame 'cos some of the drawings are quite complicated!!!!). So we all sat doing nothing, untill eventually Paul decided to play Eye-Spy but even that failed after 15 minutes. It was great not doing anything, we were all having a laugh. Peter had to go out for a meeting and wasn't coming back to the office so we were left to it, left to do nothing.

At 4pm the power was returned, 5 hours of total silence - BRILL!!! I had to go about re-setting the telephones and clocks on the machines but by the time i did that it was time to go home!!!

I got home and Kieron told me that Stuart and Becky were engaged. I sent Becky a text to say 'Congratulations'. She was over the moon. But then I also found out that some of the Sky channles on cabel had been removed because of the arguing and fighting between Virgin Media and Sky (Bastards!!!). So that has deffinatley ruined watching 'Lost' although Virgin do say that they will putting Lost on the their tv on demand service when the series finishes on Sky - HA!

Thursday and Friday were quiet at work, but i didn't mind becasue Peter was out of the office on both days and we hardly did anything at work- FAB!

Friday evening Kieron treated me to a bottle of wine and a chinese (which was lovely). We sat and watched Mr & Mrs Smith, its such a great film, quite funny in some places!!

Saturday was the day i had been waiting for as it was the day my organ was to arrive. I was fairly excited, me and Kieron sorted out the spare bedroom in which the organ would be put. At 10am my mum called to say that Ron and Grandad were just leaving with the organ and were on their way.

You see the organ is fairly monsterous and the top section has to be removed from the base for easier transportation. My nan and grandad's friends Beryl and Ron have a people carrier, and Ron offered to help transport it (Thanks Ron!).

Soon they arrived and Kieron helped bring the beast in. It was all done and connected within a harmless 15 minutes. When Grandad and Ron left, i quickly drove down to my mums so i could pick up some of my music books. I was so eager to play on my organ. I got to mums and Gaz came down the stairs with his new t-shirt on (i had been trying to guess what it was since Thursday!!) but finally my patience had paid off - he got a "I am the Stig" t-shirt from the TopGear website and theres a picture of the stig on the back. It is really cool!!!

Later that Afternoon, me and Kie met up with Stu and Becky. We went out for a nice meal at the Reservoir in Earslwood. It was a little celebratory meal for Stu and Becky's engagement. We went back to the flat but Stu and Becky were going out later with Becky's cousin so they left about 6.30.

Kieron had borrowed some DVD copies from his mum & dad. We borrwed Ghost Rider and The Illusionist. They are both excellent films. If you like the Marvel Comics/Films then Ghost Rider is the one to watch. I think Nicholas Cage palys the part really well, it's slightly predictable, but who cares when you're watching action packed stuff!!!

If you like twists in a story, then The Illusionist is the film to watch, everything is not what it seems. There's a great twist at the end, again it was a great movie!

Sunday was just like any other Sunday, not alot to do, nowhere to go. Me and Kieron just chilled all day, after we had done the shopping. I also went to my nans later that evening as usual.

And now back at work to start another week, i really don't like the way the weeks fly by, before i know it i'll be 22. Oh well, at least it only 4 weeks till i go skiing - WOOHOO!!

Cheerio all :)
