Painting and Drinking - What More Could You Want from Life?

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog...

...So last Monday back to work it was and not alot happened. Peter was on the start of his 2 week holiday and everyone upstairs had work to be getting on with.

I did my usual filing and just did little jobs to keep my day going.

In the evening i watched tv whilst Kieron was playing Civilization, after i had got bored i went and sat with Kieron for a bit before going to bed.

Tuesday was another boring day although the phones were manic, which became really irritating after a while because i couldn't get anything done let alone move away from my seat.

In the evening me, Gaz and dad went out for an Indian over in Barnt Green. I had chicken sagwalla adn i cant remeber waht dad and Gareth had, but it was very nice. Whilst we were there they had the France vs Italy match on, so very cheekily i went and checked the score every ten minutes.

We had a coffee and made our way home. When i got in Kieron was just turning his Xbox off, and we went to bed.

Wednesday at work was spent sorting out everybody else's problems, which left me all of Wednesday's work for Thursday. I didn't mind too much but i do get annoyed when people know i'm trying to concentrate on something and they come and disturb me for something really pointless and something that they coudl have done themselves but they can't be bothered to look so they get me to do it! ....Takes breath.......phew........sorry about..so any way

Wednesday evening me and Kieron sat down and watched some telly. We caught up on Gordon Ramsey's F Word and some Eastenders (to Kieron's disliking).

Thursday was ok, I finally got round to doing Wednesday's work, in the afternoon the day became frustrating as once again it was me to the rescue!

In the evening i played on my Wii to help me unwind and relax and Kieron came and joined me.

Friday work was ok but the day seemed to drag on and on. There wasn't many people in the office so it was fairly peaceful as well.

In the evening i popped round to see Natalie as it was her birthday. I had a card and little prezzie for her. Her mum and dad were there and her sister Heather. We had a good natter and i saw Natalie open some of her other presents, i only stayed 30 minutes as they were about to have their tea.

When i got home me and Kieron ordered a chinese as we didn't know what to have for tea. Kieron was playing on his xbox and i went and played on my Wii and then watched the Big Brother eviction.

After that i went and sat with Kieron for a bit before going to bed.

Satuday was a bit of a hectic day, i got up in the morning and went with mum to have a look at Tidbury Golf Club for the venue for the wedding. Its quite a nice country location, the room is a good size and the price of the food etc is also great. However they aren't licenced for the actually ceremony (which is a bit annoying) so we might not be able to have it there, but we shall see.

I stopped at mums for a bit to see nan and grandad and then went back to the flat. Me and Kieron sorted out the paint for the living room as we were going to change the green to a lighter brown. We had to go out and get some new roller brushes, so we quickly nipped over to Shirley.

When we got back it was getting on so we left the painting for Sunday and had to get ready as we were going out for a surprise meal/drink for Emily's birthday.

We went over to Spice Buffet which is on the Coventry road, not far from Swan Island. Kieron kindly drove so i could have a drink. We got there for 7.30pm and Rosey and Dan were already there. Kieron got the drinks in and we sat and a natter before Emily and Jim arrived.

It was about 20 minutes and Emily came through the door and burst out laughing, she never knew we were going to be there - it was a classic moment!

Me and Kieron stayed a good hour but we decided to leave them all to it, this month (due to furniture buying) we were both a bit short.

On our way home we called in to see Steve and Natalie for the rest of the evening, we stayed there quite late talking about everything, and Natalie was showing me her scan picture - which was really sweet.

Sunday me and Kieron got up and started painting, about half way thorugh i left Kieron to it so that i could go and get the shopping done.

When i came back Kieron had almost finished, so we had something to eat to let the paint dry and then we continued and also did the second coat.

Once it had started drying me and Kieron started to look at the new colours. The cream which has gone above the picture rail was really nice but the 2nd brown was a bit weird. It had a purple/red tint to it and it really didn't go so.......

.....we had to change it, so we would be doing more painting next weekend as well - yippee!

I didn't go down to nans for tea as i was knackered from the painting, we cleared up adn sat and watched the new series of TopGear and we caught up with Doctor Who.

And i think that just about does it for me this week, so cheerio!

118 118 Are an Hour In Front!

Hello everyone, my weekly update is upon us once again..

So last Monday back to work i went (and so did all of you lot) and what lovely sunshine we had. Work was busy with phonecalls but i didn't mind as it kept me busy. The day went whizzing by and i was back home before i knew it.

In the evening i watched some tv whilst Kieron was generally browsing the internet for books and new games etc etc.

We both watched Big Brother and went to bed.

Tuesday and work had slowed down a bit, i had my filing to do so that helped to keep my day moving. There were a few people out of the office so that gave a nice relaxed feel for the day.

In the evening me and Kieron attempted to cut our front lawn (well it was more like a forest). I popped round my mums to borrow her shears, game back and started hacking it away. It took us over an hour to get done, well you see me and Kieron just don't like gardening and we put off mowing the lawn for weeks and then it gets out of control, so we dont really do ourselves any favours but we hate gardening (plus as i mentioned before we are both hayfever sufferers!).

When we got back in we had some tea and sat and watched Gordon Ramsay's F Word, Big Brother and then we went to bed.

Wednesday morning i got up and felt like a bus had hit me. My neck, shoulders and back were stiff and my chest was wheezy and poor Kieron could hardly breath or walk! We had been attacked by the dreaded Pollen! Yep, our hayfever had gotten so bad we couldn't make it to work.

I went and had a shower to help ease the stiffness in my neck whilst Kieron made us a cup of coffee and some breakfast.

We sat on the sofa watching a bit of daytime tv for a bit and then we sat and decided to watch a film. We paid for a film off Virgin called The Nines. Its a bit weird (and a little bit pants!) an actor breaks up with his girlfriend and goes on a mad one (drink driving, crack etc) and gets placed under house arrest and he starts finding notes in the house, that he cant remember writing, and he thinks he can hear people talking upstairs etc. However it all unravels at the end where basically two other versions of himself (in different dimensions) have intertwined into his current/present realm. If you still dont understand look it up or watch it yourself!

In the evening we had some tea and then watched the Final of The Apprentice, which i thought was really good!

Thursday me and Kieron went back to work, even though we still felt a bit lousy. I (thankfully) didn't have much to do so i had quite a peaceful day work although it did drag on and on!

In the evening i caught up with some Eastenders that i missed whilst Kieron played on his Xbox. He came in and joined me about 8.30ish and we watched some tv together before i turned on my Nintendo Wii.

Friday i was back to 100% and had a good day at work, again there were a few people out of the office although that didn't stop the phone from ringing constantly.

In my lunch hour i went and bought Kieron's game he wanted, Sid Meiers Civilisation Revolution. Its a strategical/logical game where you basically build up a country with cities etc to try and take over the world!

In the evening, whilst Kieron and Elizabeth the 1st planned world domination i went with my brother to find a present for Fathers Day. We decided to get him a cd 'Dad Rocks' with the best 'dad' anthems on it, a pair of black and white Everlast Boxing shorts and a mouth guard. My dad has recently joined a boxing gym (for the fitness not the actual fighting) and we thought it would be a nice idea to get him the exact same shorts that Muhammed Ali used to wear. I got bac to the flat about 9pm and sat and played on my Wii, before watching the Big Brother live eviction.

Saturday was a good day, Kieron played more on his game whilst i decided to make another batch of chocolate brownies, i tidied up a bit and then went down to mums as usual. We had our usual glass of wine and cake and i took down some of my fresh brownies to let my nan, grandad and mum to try (which they all said were nice). After nan and grandad had gone, i helped mum tidy up the house as she was going out later to meet up with some friends she had made in the chat room and she was going to invite back to hers afterwards.

I left mums at about 5.45pm and went straight round to Steve and Natalie's. Kieron had met up with Steve and his friend Jim in the pub so me and Natalie had a good old girlie chat.

Steve and Kieron were back about 9pm and we all sat around talking and decided to have a chinese. We were there until about midnight, we were both knackered and decided to go home.

Sunday was a nice chilled out day, i played on my Wii before going to do the shopping at Morrisons. When i came back and unloaded everything, me and Kieron went down to see his mum and dad and to have Sunday dinner with them.

We stayed there a good couple of hours before heading back home. When we got back me and Kieron decided that we wanted to go and see The Happening at the cinemas, so i logged onto the computer and went on the cinemas website. Unfortunately the internet was running incredibly slow and wouldn't load the page so i decided to risk it and ring 118 118.

I was first put through to a lovely lady but couldn't find the cinema as she couldn't spell Rubry....

Me: "Rubry is R-U-B-R-Y"
118: "R-U-R-B--U"
Me: "No B-R-Y, Y for Yellow
118: "i sorwee i cant find"

.....I hang up!

So i tried again and got throught to a Scottish gentleman who found it perfectly, he said that he could give me the times of the films and he did, the next showing will be 9.45pm"

Excellent! So i went down to my nans a bit earlier so that i could leave to go to the cinema. I had some tea, gave dad his pressie (which he loved) and then went back to the flat at about 8.45pm (to give me plenty of time).

When i got back to the flat the internet was now working 100%, Kieron was on the internet looking at tips for his game, so i asked him to go on to the cinemas website to double check and the last showing was 8.45pm! So never trust 118 118 people for cinemas times!

Well i think that just about sums it all up for me so cheerio!

So Long and Thanks for all the Fish!

Hello everyone and welcome back once again to the weekly update.

So i hope everyone else has been suffering with Hayfever, i have and it hasnt been nice, but anyway last Monday was busy. The lovely sunny weather had arrived and the office was like a huge oven and i was the turkey being baked along side with the onions and potatoes!

In evening mum came round to see the new layout of the living room and also because we are slowly organising mine and Kieron's wedding. Mum had some brochures of venues that i could consider, so if have been to a wedding recently or know of a good venue (that isn't ridiculously expensive) please leave me a comment - thank you!

Mum also bought a bottle of wine round with her which we soon polished off whilst searching and scanning the internet for wedding ideas.

Tuesday work was still busy and the sun was still shining. Although thankfully my day went quickly and i was home before i knew it.

In lunch time i went into town to find a leaving present for Adam as it would be his last day on Friday. The collection figure was £95 (which i thought was pretty impressive) so off i trundled, but didn't really see anything exciting.

Me and Paul discussed the idea when i got back and we came up with getting him a rather swanky watch!

In the evening Kieron had got hold of some pirate dvd's (Shhh!). So we watched 10,000 BC, which is actually better than we thought. We had heard lots of comments about the film but we thought it was really good. We also watched Prince Caspian - the next Narnia film which again we thoroughly enjoyed and we will still go and see it on the cinema.

We watched tv for a bit and then went to bed.

Wednesday things had quietened down for a bit which was good as it gave me chance to catch up with myself and do some filling.

Lunch time Peter took everyone in the office out to lunch, Adam would be leaving on Friday but alot of people wouldn't be in to say goodbye to him on his last day, so the meal was like a half sending off for him.

We went round the corner to a Chinese restaurant called Henry's. Its really nice in there and the service and food is excellent.

Everyone was in a good and lay-back mood so we didn't really get much work done, we kind of stood around talking so it was a fun afternoon.

In the evening i watched The Apprentice and then me and Kieron were on the internet lookig at watches so that i knew what i was looking for, for Adam's present.

Thursday things sped up again which i didn't mind as the day flew past. In my lunch time i went back up into town and bought Adam a nice watch, a card and a gift bag to put it all in. The watch was from H Samuels and it was rather nice (Click here to look at watch!).

When i got back to the office i showed Paul and he too was impressed. After buying the watch, the card and the gift bag i had £12 left so me and Paul decided to put the £12 in the card.

In the evening me and Kieron watched the beginning of Big Brother, yep sorry people but its that time of year again.

After Big Brother i had a shower, and then me and Kieron carried on watching boring tv before going to bed.

Friday twas a sad day - Adam was leaving! The day was quiet and we didn't really do much. I spent the day sitting upstairs with the lads as there was hardly anybody in the office.

It was just before lunch and Peter decided that we would give Adam his card and present before we went to the pub, and then Paul had a brilliant idea.

We put the left over £12 in the card and so the idea was to give Adam just the card and make it look like that was his present. So Peter started his ever so serious speech and said "well we wish you the best of luck and here's something (handing over the card) to send you on your way, we didn't know what to get you so we thought best to let you decide what you spend it on".

Adam then said a few words and then opened the card ......... his face was a picture you could see the confusion on his face and he just didn't know what to say. Me and Paul fell about laughing and then we handed him his watch. He absolutley loved it and then we went next door for a few drinks.

We sat on the decking in the sun reminiscing about some funny moments we've all had at work. The day soon came to an end and we all said our goodbye's to Adam (i had to try hard not to cry!) and then i went home.

So all my wishes go out to Adam and Fiona who are at this very moment in time in Hong Kong! Bastards!

Anyway in the evening Kieron had Steve and Jim round as Kieron had a new game, Dragonball Z Burst Limit! And i went out for a drink with my good friend Luci P. We went to the Reservoir for a quick natter and a drink but i would be seeing Luci on Saturday evening as well.

Saturday was a good day, i got up and put my new curtains up which now look lovely. I went down to see mum, nan and grandad as usual for a slice of cake a couple of galsses of wine.

In the evening me and Kieron went over to Luci's house. She has moved into her new house (well its actually her parents house which she also lives in but you know what i mean!), which is next door to her old one (seriously i'm not joking). She had some food and lots to drink and she had quite a few people turn up. The house is lovely and has been well decorated and thought about. We stayed for just over and hour and then decided to call in and see Steve and Natalie for a bit.

Sunday was a peaceful day, me and Kieron went and did the shopping and when we came back i made some chocolate brownies, which were very yummy!

Me and Kieron watched some downloaded episodes of Smallville and then i went down to see my nan and have some tea as usual.

Well i think that's it from me - cheerio!

"You can be Successful and have Enemies or You can be Unsuccessful and have Friends".

Hello everyone and welcome back for another update!

So i've already blogged last Monday as it was Bank Holiday, so...

...back to work it was on Tuesday. My day was fairly uneventful but i had lots to catch up on due to me having the Friday off aswell.

In the evening Kieron played on his xbox whilst i watched some tv. We then both sat down to watch American Gangster which we had borrowed of Kieron's mum and dad. American Gangster stars Densel Washington and Russel Crow. Its about an American Cocaine dealer called Frank Lucas (Densel) who is shipping massive amounts of 100% cocaine from Vietnam. The cops (lead by Russel Crow) have to under go a massive operation to try and catch Densel. Its based on a true story and its a brilliant film. So i recomend you all going out this minute and hire it or buy it!

Wednesday work was fairly quiet, i managed to get most of my filing done, which was good as it kept me busy.

In the evening me and Kieron watch The Golden Compass starring Daniel Craig and Nicole Kidman. It's a good family film although i think it was trying to beat The Chronicles of Narnia (which in my opinion didn't, Narnia was far better) and two it just stops half way through the film, so there's obviously going to be another one. You start getting into it and you think "yeah lets go get the baddies and win the war" and then the film ends.

Thursday was an ok day Harley from Armstrong Burton called in as we had a couple of problems with one of our machines which he just about managed to sort out.

In the evening i caught up with some soaps and watched Britains Got Talent. Kieron came in about 9pm after coming off his xbox and we watched some tv together before going to bed.

Friday work was really slow and just dragged on. I couldn't wait to get home and sit and relax. Me and Kieron sat and watched tv together for most of the evening, and then looked on the internet for dvd's. We also looked for some living room furniture as we were going shopping on Saturday and wanted to get an idea for what we wanted.

Saturday was a busy but exciting day. Me and Kieron were going round shopping for some new living room furniture. We got up and had some breakfast, got ready and off we went.

We started by going to Ikea in Wednesbury. We both had never been there before and didn't quite know what to expect. Its a huge place with lots of different ideas. You go round the shop looking at the furniture you want and then when you've been round all departments (i.e. living room, kitchen etc) you end up in a huge warehouse and you pick up your furniture on the way out, pay and off you go. Its very well though out and a very good idea!

They had some items we liked but nothing that really stood out to us, so we made our way abnck towards Shirley and looked round Shed City. We went in and out of all the furniture shops umming and arring until we settled on a set from Argos. We bought a coffee table, matching tv unit and matching bookcase and a lovely new rug.

Kieron had some other bits and pieces he wanted to pick up and then off we went home. We got all the furniture into the flat and set about putting it togther. It took us a couple of hours to get things sorted but we finally did it. After the furniture we started to have a move around in the living room to actually make the living room feel like a home.

We then collapsed on the sofa and watched some tv.

Sunday i sorted out the rubbish that was left over from the furniture and took most of it down the tip. Me and Kieron then went shopping at Morrisons.

When we came back we had some lunch and Kieron downloaded some episodes of Lost that we had missed. Kieron's mum and dad came up for a bit to see the new furniture and new layout.

I went down to nans for tea as usual but i left a little bit earlier so that i could get home to watch the England vs Trinidad & Tobago friendly.

Well short but sweet, i know, but that's it from me

Cheerio
