Go and Surprise Me!

Hello, hello, hello to you all.

So it's another update for my blog, and i've had quite a relaxing week.

So last Monday work was average, very busy with the phones but as far as actual work i hadn't got much to do so i couldn't wait to get home.

I also got Kieron a new book to read by Raymond E. Feist, he's an American fantasy writer and he is very good. I didn't know alot about elves and mythical, magical creatures but when i read his first book called Magician i didn't need to as he explains, in very precise detail, the characters and creatures he introduces. It's a bit Lord of the Rings ish but still very good.

The book i bought Kieron is the first of a new saga called 'Flight of the Knighthawks' and it looks a very good read. So Monday evening Kieron read his book and i watched some tv.

Tuesday work was the same, very busy with phone calls. Tuesday evening i ordered a new music book for my organ as i get bored of the stuff i play and now and again i need something to work at. I ordered Madonna's 'Confessions on a Dancefloor' so i was looking forward to that.

Wednesday work was very, very quiet but i had some minutes to write out for Peter and Paul so that kept my day going. In the evening Kieron had invited Stuart round but i didn't mind as i met up with Emily, Jim, Dan and Rosey at the Reservoir. When i arrived i had a nice surprise as Richard had come down for the week to see us, so it was great to see him. I also i had another little surprise from Emily and Jim as i they gave me birthday present (which isn't for another 8 weeks).

I was told i had to open it, and i was so, so, so, so, so shocked. Emily had replaced my Michael Jackson Ultimate Collection. Basically a few months ago when my old, little red Fiesta was stolen, i had some of my cd's left in my car, of which was my Michael Jackson Ultimate Collection, it's this folder with 4 cd's and a dvd of all his most famous stuff plus singles that he never released and lots lots more information.

And so she replaced it for me, and the reason she gave it me early was so i didn't ask anybody for my birthday.

So i would just like to say.....

.... THANK YOU EMILY & JIM, VERY, VERY, VERY MUCH!!!! XXX

So Thursday work was slightly hectic as there was a meeting in the morning and in the afternoon, so it was tea and coffee galore! Thursday evening was just another relaxing evening watching the tv.

Friday work was quiet but i didn't matter as most people were out anyway. But the day went quickly by.

I got home from work and Kieron had bought me a bottle of wine, we also ordered a pizza 'cos we couldn't decide what to do for tea. I also had had a little card come through the door to say my musicbook had been delivered to Kings Norton Sorting office (as it wouldn't fit through the letter box). So i was happy and i would collect it Saturday morning.

All evening Kieron finished reading his book (which means i can now read it haha!) and we watched tv. I caught up on x factor and then we decided to play Trivial Pursuit.

Saturday morning i got up and went and got my musicbook, when i got back me and Kieron tidied up the flat (as it was disgraceful!) . Kieron then wanted the second book so off we went to Solihull. We had a quick mooch round touchwood and then went and got some grub at the Plume and Feathers on the Stratford Road.

On our way back we called in to see mum and nan and grandad for our usual cake and wine session.

That evening i was a bit bored so me and Rosey did what we do best when we're bored and we went for a random drive. It was nice just to have a girlie chat, and a giggle. Rosey picked me up at 8 and we went pretty much all over the place (i'm glad she knows where were going!)

We didn't stay out to late and i was back home for 11pm. I cuddled down with Kieron on hte sofa as he'd got the fire on. We stayed up untill 12am and then went to bed.

Sunday was a nice day, we went and did the shopping, when we came back Kieron made his oh so famous spag bol (really delicious!) and then we just chilled out.

Later that evening we went to Wetherspoons in Kings Heath for Kieron's mates birthday. Steve and Natalie also came along but we got really bored so we stayed an hour and then we went back to Steve and Natalie's for the rest of evening. We got some food and we got some drink and we had a really nice time.

Me and Kieron got home for just gone 12am and we went straight to bed ready for work on Monday!

And that's my update for now so i will see you next time!

Argh!! I Can't See!

Hello there people

Yes it's my weekly update, so let us begin....

...Last Monday i went to work with a bit of a sore throat but nothing to serious, the day went quickly without me having to do loads of work (woohoo!). I got home feeling rather tired and my throat had got worse.

Me and Kieron had our tea and Kieron settled down on his xbox for a bit whilest i was on the pc charging up my Sony mp3 player!

Tuesday morning i got up to go to work but my sore throat had developed overnight into a full cold! My head felt it was going to explode and my body felt like i had been hit by bus! So i decided not to go to work as i felt very ill.

So with the little energy i did have, i managed to get dresses and to drag my pillow and the duvet into the living room where i plonked my arse all day. Randomly my mum also had the day off, she was just getting over her cold but still didn't feel like going to work. She dropped by for a quick 20 minutes to help tidy up a bit and to bring me some medicine!

I decided to go round mum's for a bit so i wasn't by myself all day, on my way over i called into the local chippy as i was hungry! We both shared a portion of chips and some hot curry sauce - it was fab! Gaz popped home from school, for his lunch so i said a quick hello to him. He was only there for 5-10 minutes.

I only stayed an hour at mum's and then went back home to my duvet as i was beginning to feel rough again! Once home i decided to catch up on some tv and started to catch up on Eastenders!

Once Kieron was home, he started the tea although i didn't have much of an appetite! Come 9pm i was knackered so i decided to go to bed.

Wednesday i still felt bad although slightly better, so i decided another day off it was, again i didn't do much apart from catching up on some more tv.

The day quickly went by and before i knew it Kieron was home from work. We had some tea and settled down to watch the tv. Again i didn't stay up too late as i kept falling to sleep on the sofa!

Thursday morning i felt alot better although still bunged up and snot everywhere (i know it's nice but we have all suffered!) so i started getting ready for work, got on my bus, walked down to the office and i felt awful. I managed to do most of the day but Malcolm let me go at 3pm - i was exhausted!!

I sat and relaxed when i got home because i needed to recuperate as that evening iwas supposed to go to the Barnt Green Inn as it was my surrogate mother's (Lorraine Lake who looks after me when i go skiing) 50th birthday and we adn most of the skiing crew were there as a surprise.

Gaz came and picked me up about 8ish and we set off for the pub, it's not too far away just by the Lickeys and it is a very nice pub aswell!

We got there for 8.30pm, and i got a round in. It wasn't long before my dad, the Twist's, the rest of the screw crew and people i didn't know arrived.

Lorraine and Andy got to the pub for 8.45pm and she was really shocked, she had no clue! I had a chat with me ski girlies, but me and Gaz left at just gone 10pm so i could go home and Gaz could pop into the Packhorse for last orders!!

Friday i did manage to go to work, i felt alot better even though i still had a bit of a cough. The day went quickly nad there was nobody really in so i could relax, which was nice.

That evening i got home and Kieron had cooked me a really nice meal, he had done spag bol, he bought some wine and he had lit the candles. Once we had eaten the meal we blew out the candles and just sat talking on the sofa supping wine, the tv was on but the volume was really low. I decided to watch the re-run of X Factor, i managed to watch the first 30 minutes when our living room lightbulb started flickering, we thought it was on its way out, when all of a sudden...

.....Darkness!

We were fumbling around like idiots although we couldn't help but laugh, i managed to find the lighter in the kitchen to re-light the candles and Kieron (by using the light from his phone!) went outside.

The entire road had gone off and the neighbours were all outside with torches and candles. Kieron came back in to tell me what had happened, we quickly rang Kieron's mate Steve who lives up the road in Cotteridge and randomly their electricity had gone too!!

I haven't had a power cut in years, but it only lasted an hour and suddenly everything came back to life (although i was a bit miffed i still never got to see X Factor!)

Saturday morning me and Kieron took a trip into Town. A brand new computer and gamin centre had recently opened and Kieorn wanted to go have a look round so that he could tell his xbxo mates about it. The place is called Omega Sektor and it looks really funky inside. We signed up to become members and went round and took some pics.

After we had done that we had a walk round the Bullring. I bought myself a new top from Republic. We stopped and had a cup of coffee and a bite to eat befoer coming back home. I uploaded the pics we had taken in town on to the computer for Kieron to send to his mates.

That evening me, mum, Gaz, Nan and Grandad were off to see James Last at the NEC Arena. Christmas 2006 we had bought the tickets for nan and grandad as they are big fans of James and we decided to go with them.

Nan and Grandad picked me up at 6pm and then we and got mum and Gaz. With Grandad driving and mum navigating we were soon at the NEC (not before going down one of the longest roads EVER to get to the car park).

It was James Last's fairwell UK tour and he was really really good. He played some of his own compositions, a couple of ABBA songs and he even played a bit of U2 and Greenday!

It was quite alte by the time the concert was over, so as soon as i got home i went to bed.

Sunday was a good day, we got up and went to Sainsbury's to do our weekly shop, we came back and Kieron started the sunday dinner. Whilst it was cooking we sat and watched Meet The Robinsons. It's really good, starts off a bit weird but your laughing all the way through.

A bit alter on Gaz came round and we had a couple of games at Trivial Pursuit: Lord of the Rings edition. The first game i won (i know i couldn't believe either!) and the second game Kieron won (unsurprisingly!). We had a laugh and it certainly put Gaz's knowledge to the test.

After that me and Gaz went down to nan's as usual for our tea!!

And once again that's it for me blog, see you next time!!

I'm A Team Player!

Hello there fellow blogees!

Well time for my weekly update.....so

Last Monday work was good, i spent most of the day getting ready and putting together the final part to a planning submission we had ready to go. It took up much of my day which was great, but unfortunately due to a computer/printing error. I didn't get all of it printed and finished but the majority of it was done.

Monday evening me and Kieron decided to have a go at the Trivial Pursuit: Lord of the Rings Edition which i had bought at the weekend. The questions range from really easy to fairly hard, although some you would have to know everything there is to know!

Kieron eventually won (although i didn't do as badly as i thought i would!) and it did make us laugh.

Tuesday at work i finished my planning application stuff and i got it all bounded together and when Peter came in later he took it up to the planning office! The afternoon was quiet so i spent my time upstairs sorting and tidying up for the lads.

That evening me and Kieron just watched tv, we watched the new Hell's Kitchen which is pants!

Wednesday went flying by at work and i don't think i did anything! That evening i dropped by my mates house as it was her birthday and i had a card and a prezzie for her. However she has just recently qualified as an air stewardess and is now up in Nottingham so i left her prezzie with her mum and a good old catch up!

When i got home Kieron's mum and dad had popped round for a bit which was nice they had a cup of tea and a biscuit and they left at 9pm.

Thursday at work was just the same old stuff. I met up with my mate Becky for a drink over at the Actress & Bishop. She's 5 months pregnant and i hadn't seen in her for ages, so it was really nice to catch up with her and have a good gossip like we used too.

Thursday evening Kieron played on his xbox and i sat and updated my Sony mp3 player. We also had another go at Trivial Pursuit, i did alot better this time round although Kieron still won!

Friday was a very random day. As i was walking to work i got Kieron his new game 'Two Worlds'(which should have come out last week but was delayed!). I got to work and we all carried out our daily office tasks until 12.30pm!

We all packed up our things and left the office as we were going on our first Team Bonding afternoon with Armstrong Burton. We made our way to Middleton Hall which is not far from Drayton Manor Park. We arrived 1pm and had a little look round as we were the first to arrive. But not long later Armstrong Burton came and joined us.

It was a bit nervous at first meeting 50 other people for the first time, but everyone was really nice and friendly. We all tucked into some lunch which had been provided before being seated down in the main hall.

We were given our instructions and then put into our teams. The idea behind the day was that we had to work out who was the rightful heir to the estate. To do this each team had to complete the four tasks that were set out and were then given a clue. At the end of the day the clues would lead us to the location of the last will which declared who was the rightful heir!

There were 8 teams with 5-6 people in each. In my team there was Derek Burton (the boss!), Janet (his PA) and two other lads who were a good laugh! I was then chosen as the team leader (Oh great!).

Our first activity was we had to navigate to members of our team (who were blindfolded) through a maze.

The second task we were put with another team and we had to carry a bucket filled with tennis balls and then tip the balls into another bucket but we could only do this by using the ropes on the bucket (so we had to carry the bucket by the ropes and tip using the ropes) and some people were blind folded so we also had to navigate them aswell!

The third task was each team had to walk up and down the lawn but on two wooden planks (one leg on each plank!) This was very funny and this was also where my team leadership came into play. We weren't very good at first until i started counting to get us into some sort of rhythm!

We all had a cup of tea and a piece of cake for a quick refreshment and then it was onto the final task. We had to cross "the swamp" by building a bridge with tyres, every member of the team had to cross it and you couldn't touch the swamp otherwise you havd to start from the beginning! Again i lead the way and we finished in no time!

The clues at the end were very simple and we found the will in no time. So with the day completed Derek bought us all a drink and then we made our way home.

That evening Kieron played on his new game, i decided to play on my organ as it had been a long time since i played it.

Saturday i got up and went into Solihull as me and Emily had sneakily ordered a photo to be blown up to poster size and put in a frame for Rosey's going away prezzie. So i went to Max Spielman and collected it and made my way home. They hadn't put it in the frame so i did that back at the flat with Kieron's help!

I then popped down to see my mum and nand and grandad as usual although i only stayed for an hour as a) mum wasn't feeling too well and b) me and Kieron were going for a carvery with Kieron's mate,Tom, from work.

We went to the Plume and Feathers on the Stratford Road, me and Kieron sat and had a pint as we were a bit early but it wasn't long till Tom arrived. We had a little chat before going through and getting our grub.

It was a really nice carvery, i had Turkey and Beef and the lads had a bit of everything. Sadly we had to cut it short as Tom had other plans that evening so we said toodily pip and off we went.

Later that evening i met up with Rosey, Dan, Emily and Jim at the Reservoir. Rosey had come back up from Gloucester Uni and we presented her with the picture! She really loved it and couldn't make up her mind where it would go in her bedroom!

We had a good laugh and a good catch up as well, but had to leave as Emily had work the next day (although it was to be her last shift!)

Sunday was a nice chilled out day. In the morning we had breakfast and Kieron played on his xbox. We went and did our weekly shop at 12pm, came back and unloaded everything and then went down to Kieron's mum and dad's for sunday lunch. We sat outside in the garden whilst the dinner was being cooked and had a nice chat. Maria had done chicken with lots of roasties, gravy, peas and mash! It was delicious

After dinner we let our food go down before tucking in to some apple pie and custard. Me and Kieron had another drink before going abck home to the flat.

That afternoon Kieron invited Steve round so he could have a look at Two Worlds and then i eventually went down to my nans for tea as usual!

And that's it for now, see you next week!

Auf Wiedersehen, Arrivederci, Trarabit!

Hello there bloggers!

My weekly update is upon so lets get started (before i forget what i did!)

So i already blogged about Bank Holiday Monday so on with last Tuesday, back to work we went and for me it was a rather quiet day but at least it went quickly.

In the evening Kieron had invited Stuart round to show him his new games for the xbox so while the lads were doing that, i sat and finished copying some cd's for Rosey and updated my Sony Walkman!

Wednesday flew by at work and i was fairly quiet again, but mainly because there was only two of us!! Everyone else was either on holiday or on site but i had fun!

That evening Me, Dan, Rosey, Emily, Jim and our good friend Lindsey all meet up at The Barn in Hockely Heath for Rosey's fairwell meal as she was going down to Gloucester to start her PGCE course at the weekend.

We all got there for around 8.30pm and went straight to our table. The meal was really nice and not bad prices either. We all had a laugh and a joke (mainly because of Jim!) and even our waitress joined in! We had desserts (although me and Lindsey had coffee's 'cos we were full!) and settled the bill!

It was 10.30 by the time we left, but unfortunately the time had arrived for us all to say goodbye to Rosey, she'll be back on the weeknds to see us so ut won't be so bad!

Thursday at work dragged on a bit and i was getting a bit fed up as i was typing up some random crap that we need to send to the Council for a job in Tyseley and it was getting rather boring!!

Thursday evening was just a nice quiet night in watching the telly.

Friday Kieron had the day off as there was another game (Two Worlds) coming out for his xbox which he really wanted. So we both went into town and we walked up to Gamestation (as they normally open early for a big game) so we walked up to the pavillions where Game and Woolworths were open. We said our goodbyes and i continued my walk to work.

I had only just made my morning cup of tea at work and Kieron called me. His game had been delayed at the last minute and was going to be realeased Friday 7th September. He was really gutted so he just went home and chilled out the day. Work was good as there was hardly anybody in again so we just chilled out.

Friday evening me and Kieron got a chinese and a bttle of wine each. I watched Kieron play his game Bioshock for most of the evening before watching the final of Big Brother (yes i know i 'm sad but i don't care!) We didn't go to bed until 1am, which is surprisingly late for me!

Saturday me and Kieron spent the morning tidying up as my mum, Gaz, nan and grandad were coming round in the afternoon.

They arrived about 2pm and we sat and had a cake and the usual glass(es) of wine. We all had a good natter and a right old giggle (of what i can't remember!). Nan and grandad left about 4pm to get back to their dog Rosie, mum and Gaz stayed a little bit longer before going at 5pm.

Me and Kieron popped down to Sainsbury's as Kieron wanted a film to watch. He bought The Reaping starring Hilary Swank. I was a bit dubious at first but it was actually a good film.

It's based around the 10 plagues from the bible (see if you can name all 10 plagues - answers are at the bottom!). Hilary Swank's character is a woman who has lost her faith as her husband and her little daughter were slaughtered in Egypt, whislt they were doing some charity work (she managed to get away!).

She is a lecturer/investigater about how what can be assumed as a miracle can always be solved with a scientific answer until she is called to a town called Haven where the river has turned to blood. The town accuse this young girl who apparantly murdered her brother in the river the same morning. Each of the ten plagues follow and it is judged that it is this little girl.

There is a twist in the film and all is revealed that everything is not what it seems.

Sunday morning we had some breakfast and then went to Sainbury's for our weekly shop. Whilst going around all the aisles i noticed that they were selling Trivial Pursuit: Lord of the Rings edition and it had been reduced from £15.99 to £9.99 so i bought it!

That afternoon Me, Kieron, Gaz, Mum, Nan and Grandad met up at The Hollybush for a meal. It was to celebrate that my nan had finally finished all of her cancer treatment. We all opted for the sunday roasts which was a choice of either lamb or beef (of which i had lamb).

It didn't take long for the food to arrive and we were soon scoffing our faces. It was a nice meal with a rewarding dessert at the end.

We didn't stay long after we had had our puddings. So we said our goodbyes and went home.

For the rest of the afternoon we sat and watched tv and finished our left over wine from Friday evening, until i had to go down to my nans for my tea!

And i think that is that so until next week, trarabit!

Ok then so the 10 plagues are:

1 - Water to Blood (Also remembered as draught as all water was human blood)

2 - Frogs (Frogs flooded the land of Egypt and then died)

3 -Gnats/Lice (Lice infestation all crops were ruined)

4 - Flies (Flies swarmed Egypt which spread diseases)

5 - Livestock Diseased (This is also remembered as famine as there was no animals to eat)

6 - Boils (Everyone was covered in boils!)

7 - Storm/fiery hail (A storm which rained ash)

8 - Locusts (They finished off what the lice/flies were doing - they wiped Egypt of trees, grass, food)

9 - Darkness (Egypt was plunged into darkness for 3 days)

10 - Death of the Firstborn (All first born sons were killed, ranging from a peasants son to sons of livestock)

So how well did you do?
