Family Fun!

Hello, hello and once again its time for my update.

So back to work it was on Monday, fairly quiet due to people being out at meetings etc but apart from that my day went quite quickly.

In the evening i watched my soaps and just crappy tv. Kieron was on his xbox for most of the evening until he finally gave up at 9pm to come and join me.

Tuesday work was the same really, our Librarian (Sue) was in to sort out our little library so i spent most of my day talking to her. Again the day flew by fairly quickly and i was home before i knew it.

Wednesday was another unexciting day. Derek and Janet called in to see Peter for a quick chat but they were only in for an hour. I had bits of filling to sort out but i couldn't wait to get home.

In the evening i watched the Apprentice which i thought was really good although i didn't want Raef to go.

Thursday was my last day at work for the week as i had Friday booked off. Thursday was a good day i managed to get things done and sort things out so that i had no loose ends waiting for me when i came back to work.

The day went by quickly and i was soon on my way home. In the evening i watched some tv with Kieron before going to bed.

Friday me and Kieron got up and tidied up the flat a bit and had something to eat. Kieron played on his xbox before getting ready to go to the cinema. We were off to see the new Indiana Jones film and we were both very excited.

Me and Kieron both enjoyed the film, its very action packed and both Harrison Ford and Shia LeBeof were brilliant in it.

After the film we called in to see my nan and grandad as it was my nans birthday. We stopped and had a drink with them and a chat. We were just over an hour and decided to go back home.

A bit later Kieron went out to the pub to meet his friend Jim and I decided that i wanted to have a go at making cakes. I decided it could be a small hobby of mine as i do find myself getting bored quite quickly over the weekends and want something to do and i think it'll be fun. So i went over to Argos and got my £2 set of scales and my £3 electric whiskers and then i called into Sainsbury's and bought my £2 mixing bowl and my £4.50 24cm cake tin! All i needed now was a cake book, i looked round Sainsbury's and they hadn't got anything so i decided to leave it until i was near a bookshop.

I called in to see Nanny Evans for a bit, she was getting ready to go out to a neighbours wedding, but she said that she wasn't going out till 7.30pm, so i had a cup of tea and a buscuit and left her to it.

Feeling a bit bored i decided to call in and see my mum and brother for a bit. I had some stir fry with them and sat and watched a bit of tv with my brother. Mum was going over to Tesco's to do her shopping, so i decided to go with her to see if they had any cook/cake books.

We had a good look round at the book section and after hunting round i managed to find a simple cake book. The first receipe was for a Victoria Sponge Cake, whic i thought would be good to start off with.

We went round the rest of the shop picking up bits and pieces. Mum got most of her shopping and i picked up my ingrediants for my cake.

When we got home we had a glass of wine and watched Derren Brown. After that i decided to go home as it was getting late. Kieron was on his xbox with Jim so i started to read other reciepes for all the other cakes i would eventually make. Jim was only there 20 minutes before his taxi arrived. Kieron came and sat down with me in the living room for a bit before we went to bed.

Saturday was a busy day, i got up and started to make my Victoria Sponge. I was baking and mixing for a good hour and to be honest i really enjoyed doing it. After it had finished cooking i let it go cool and then put the jam and cream on it.

I was very pleased with myself and Kieron was the first person to try a piece. He said it was very nice and he wasnt lying!

I wrapped the rest of the cake up and set off over to my nan and grandad's house. For nans birthday we treated her to a facial and haircut by the hairdressers that always do mine and mums hair, and the appointment was today.

I got to nans for about 11.30am, picked her up and set off over to mums. We had a sit down for abit and waited for my mum to get changed and then down the road we went to Liaisons. Nan was introduced to Angela the Beauty Therapist and Katrina our hairdresser.

They were really busy and due to some people being late etc nan had her hair done first. Katrina did a wonderful job and really sorted out nans brittle and dry hair. After that she went with Angela to have her facial. Whilst nan was having that done i had my hair cut with Katrina.

We were there for well over an hour but my nan really enjoyed it so it was worth it. We went back to mums where grandad had arrived and we sat and had a glass of wine and everybody tried my cake.

After that i set off over to Steve and Natalie's. Kieron was already there helping Steve to get the BBQ going. We had a laugh and a chat and then moved back inside to play a game of Simpsons Monopoly. I was Santa's Little Helper, Natalie was a Doughnut, Steve was Blinkey the three-eyed fish and Kieron was Bart.

We played for a couple of hours which resulted in Kieron winning. After that we sat down and listened to some music and had a chat. By 11.00pm we were all tired so me and Kieron called it a night.

Sunday was an ok day. Me and Kieron went and did the shopping at Morrisons and when we came back we started the Sudnay dinner. After that i fell asleep for a good hour and when i woke up i had a terrible Migraine, i felt sick and dizzy and decided it wouldn't be a good idea to go to nan's.

Kieron came off his xbox and he went and got a couple of dvd's from Blockbusters. He rented Dragon Wars which is a cross between Jurassic Park/Eragon/Godzilla and he also rented out Bee Movie which is a Dreamworks film, which was very funny.

After that i decided to go to bed to try and sleep off my migraine.

Bank Holiday Monday was a good day, we got up and had some breakfast, got ready and went and saw Kieron's mum and dad for a bit. We borrowed American Gangster and The Golden Compass off them on dvd. We had a natter and said our goodbye's as were going out for a meal for nan's birthday. We went to The Hollybush in Gorcott Hill. We were on our way and Gareth called to say that we would park up the road from the restaurant as a tree had fallen down and was blocking the road.

As we got near the restaurant there was indeed a huge tree in the middle of the road, so we parked on the side of the road and walked down to the restaurant.

I had lasagne and chips which was very nice. We had a couple of drinks and a chat and then went back home. Back at home i watched the last hour of The Sound of Music whilst Kieron was on his Xbox.

A bit later and it was all go again as me, dad and Gareth were going to see Lee Evans. Gareth and dad picked me up at 7pm and we went over to Andy Lake's house in Bromsgrove. From there we went down the road to a little college/theatre place called The Atrix. We were 5 rows from the front and because its a tiny little place it was like sitting on his lap!

Comedians go to little venues before going on a main tour to try out their new material, to which Lee had his notes on stage with him as he hadn't remembered all of it. He was very funny but some of his jokes just needed re-writing to make them flow better. He finished off with his classic rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody.

When we got out it was 11.00pm so we said our goodbye's and set off home. Gaz dropped me off and it was nearly 12am so i went straight to bed.

And i think that's about it for now so cheerio!

Where's the Excitement?

Hello everyone and welcome back for my weekly blog.

Not a lot has happened over the last week, so my apologies if this blog is a bit boring!

So last Monday work was good, i had a fair few things that i needed to get done. Mike and Dave.A were away on holiday so the place was fairly quiet.

In the evening Kieron was on his xbox playing Ace Combat so i sat down and tucked in to my one and a half hours of soaps.

Tuesday work was still busy but i didn't mind as my day went by fairly quickly. In the evening me and Kieron watched some tv. We decided to watch a new programme on Virgin 1 called Chuck. Its about a guy (called Chuck .....obviously) who has had CIA/FBI information stored in his head (not by choice!) and he helps two agents capture criminals. Its quite funny, although its one of those programmes you would have to watch to find it funny rather than someone just telling you about it!

Wednesday work started going slow again, but thankfully the phones kept ringing which gave me something to do.

In the evening i watched The Apprentice which i thought was brilliant. They had to sell Wedding dresses at the Wedding Show at the N.E.C. and some of them just hadn't go a clue!

Thursday work was still quiet however pretty much everyone was out so i took things nice and easy! I also got a lovely lift home from my brother.

He was in town to register with an agency and he was still there by the time i finished work. So i met him outside Dorothy Perkins and he dropped my off home.

Mum also popped in for 5 minutes, a pair of her trousers she had brought in town last week didn't fit so she asked me kindly if i would sawp them. She didn't stay long as she was off out for a meal.

Friday what a crappy, rainy day it was. I took my mum's trousers back for her and i managed to dodge the down pour of rain!

In the evening i sat and watched tv and caught up with some programmes i had missed earlier in the week. Kieron brought me a lovely bag of Malteasers so i sat and munched them!

Saturday was a good day. Me and Keiron decided to go and get the shopping done and out of the way. Once we got back and put everything away i had some jam on toast and then went to mums. Nan and grandad arrived and we sat down to have our wine and cake.

We had a natter and drunk some more wine until it was time to go home. In the evening me and mum had nothing to do so we decided to go and paly bingo at the Mecca in Acocks Green.

Mum had never been before so i showed her the ropes. Apart from being a couple of numbers off we unfortunately didn't win anything but it was all good fun.

It was 10pm when we came out so i dropped mum home and then went back to the flat. Gareth was there playing Mario Kart with Kieron. They played a few more games and then we caught up with Doctor Who.

It was nearly 11pm so Gaz said goodbye and went home and me and Kieron went to bed.

Sunday was a nice relaxing day. Kieron was on his xbox and i went and wathced some tv. After a while i did some washing up and put some washing on and then decided to watched Disney Pixar's Cars.

In the evening i went down to nans for tea and we wacthed Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade, so i am even more eagerly waiting for the fourth film!

And me thinks that is it for now so cheerio!

How Are People with Hayfever Supposed to Mow the Lawn?

Hello everyone and welcome back to my weekly update, i have already blogged last Monday (due to it being Bank Holiday) so i begin then last Tuesday.....

.....so back to work it was (unfortunately) the day whizzed by as i had phone calls and queries to deal with. I also had some good news that my annual salary was to be increased by £1,000, so i will be looking forward to the extra £60 in my pay cheque.

When i got home i shared my good news with Kieron, to which he was delighted. We had some tea and then sat down and watched the Director's cut of I Am Legend on Blu-ray (which was brilliant). Now on the dvd there is an option to watch the alternative ending. In the actual film we (probably) all saw at the cinema, Will Smith's character dies by setting off a grenade which kills him and the surrounding infected "people". But the ending me and Kieron saw on the dvd is very different.

WARNING: SPOLIER!!!

Ok so in the movie version Will Smith (Dr Robert Neville) captures one of these infected "people" to try out his latest version of a cure on it. The (what appears to be) "leader" of the infected then tries to capture Will Smith for revenge etc. Later in the film Will Smith finally meets two other survivers where they go back to Will's house after he is seriously hurt, unfortunately because it was still dark when they went home the infected have followed them back to their house and the "leader" of the infected and his army break into the house. Will and everyone go down into the lab and lock themselves in a sealed off section of the room where the captured infected "person" is still being tested on. The other infected come down and they are all trapped. Eventually Will sends the other two survivors into a basement for safety and then Will lets off the grenade and everything is killed. The two survivors are then seen driving to a more secure location.

The other version is exactly the same, they are chased home and then go down to the basement and lock themselves is the secured section with the captured infected "person" and the other infected chase them down there. Now earlier in the film Will has flashbacks of his wife and daughter (who is actually played by Will Smith's daughter in real life!) of them trying to escape the city and the daughter draws a butterfly on car window and says "look at the butterfly daddy." So back at the end of the film Will and the survivors are trapped and the "leader" is banging on the door but then to our amazement the "leader" draws a butterfly shape on the door. Will then grabs the captured infected and notices a tatoo (which is a butterfly). We are to pressume the captured infected is the girlfriend or possibly wife of the "leader". Will them opens the door and brings out the captured and gives her back to the leader. The infected the leave causing no further harm. Will survives and he and the other survivors leave to the secure location.

THE END!

Even though it is more predictable (because Will Smith survives) i think it is a better ending, because its got more meaning to it!

But anyway back to my blog...... Wednesday work was fairly busy and i was looking forward to going home. I also found out some news that our dear friend Adam is leaving at the end of May, he is going to do a bit of travelling with his girlfriend and then they are moving down to London. So good luck to them both.

At lunch me and Paul decided to buy Adam a drink in a early good luck drink, but i'm sure we will give a better send off nearer the time.

In the evening my mum popped round as she was bored and brought a bottle of wine with her. We had a nice chat and i told her my good news about my pay rise. We watched a bit of telly and then she left about 10pm.

Thursday, work had slowed down a bit which gave me time to relax and sort out some filing. In the evening me and Kieron decided to mow the front lawn as it had started to get out of control. Although its mine and Kieron's least favourite job as we both suffer with hayfever so we have to stop every 5 minutes to scratch our eyes and arms, wipe our noses, sneeze, so it took us a while. After we had cleaned up we decided to watch Troy (no different endings here though!).

Friday work was even slower but there weren't that many people in the office so it was nice and quiet. In the evening me and Kieron watched some tv for a bit, i then went and watched Kieron play on GTA 4 for a bit before going to bed.

Saturday was a good day, me and mum went into town to do some shopping. My mum wanted some new trousers for work and she wanted to get a new outfit for a party she is having in June. We went round, Next, Wallis, Evans, Principles and Debenhams for her try out loads of different things. We had a bite to eat and then it was make-your-mind-up time. I ended buying a new top for work form Next and a little black cardigan to wearin the evenings. My mum brought two new pairs of trousers from Evans but couldn't find any tops she liked. It was nearly 2pm and we had been in town since 9.30am so we decided we had had enough. On our way back home we called in to see nan and grandad and had a glass of wine and a cake. We had a chat and showed them what we had bought and then set off for home. On our way Kieron rang me to tell me that he and Gareth were at the Packhorse adn did we want to meet them there for a drink -to which we replied yes!

We sat outside in the sunshine and had a bite to eat (although it wasn't the best meal i had ever had at the Packhorse!). It was soon 6pm and me and Kieron left to go over to Steve and Natalie's.

We all had a chat, but it wasn't long before the lads were on the Xbox so me and Natalie went and watched tv and carried on having a girlie chat.

It was all getting a bit late so me and Kieron left about 11.30pm and went home to bed.

Sunday was a good day. Me and Kieron still had some bits of our old wardrobe left to get rid of, so we smashed them up and took it down to the tip. We then went over to Morrisons to do our shopping.

In the afternoon Kieron had borrowed Overlord from Steve so he was busy playing that whilst i sat down and caught up with some tv. In the evening i went down to nans for tea.

And i think that about wraps it all up for me so cheerio!

I'm Running Out Of Ideas For Titles!

Hello everyone these weeks are flying by as we are now into May!

So last Monday was a bit of a nightmare at work due to having the Friday off for our Team Bonding day there were loads of messages and work to catch up on, but at least i was busy and i was soon back home.

In the evening i watched the usual load of soaps before Kieron came in and joined me, watched a bit more tv and went to bed.

Tuesday work was good i still had plenty to do to keep me going, in fact a bit more than i thought as i left work 15 minutes late!

In the evening i watched some tv with Kieron as he didn't fancy playing on his xbox. We watched some rubbish tv until New Most Haunted came on, although it was the last in the series!

Wednesday not alot happened at work just same old stuff, phones were a bit manic but nothing to major!

Wednesday evening i watched The Apprentice which was absolutely brilliant! So, so funny! Their task was to sell some sort of greeting card. They had to come up with an idea, make some examples and then try and selll them to Tescos, Clinton's and Celebrations. Team Alpha came up with National Singles Day and Team Renaissance came up with Save the Environment card! Alpha won and sold the most cards however Sir Alan made a really good point by saying who would the Singles send there cards to? and Renaissance badly lost as why would you send a card (which is made from trees) to send a message about saving the Environment/Planet?

So after that i went and watched Kieron play Grand Theft Auto 4 before going to bed.

Thursday work had slowed dramatically down for me but i didn't care as me and Kieron were having Friday off so i was just waiting for the clock to strike 5.30pm! Which (obviously) it eventually did!

Thursday evening me and Kieron planned our day ahead with exactly what we were going to do on Friday.

Friday morning me and Kieron were up nice and early as we had British Gas coming round to replace our electric prepayment meter with a normal credit one. The chap was there for about 40 minutes and then was out of our way.

Me and Kieron had to phone the bank to sort out a few problems but that was all sorted finally after waiting for god knows how long in a queue!

Next me and Kieron set about putting together our new chest draws, which we've had for awhile but wanted to wait as we were expecting a delivery from Argos with the matching wardrobes. So Kieron got all the pieces on the floor, got the instructions out and spent the next hour trying to figure out how the hell it went together. Kieron is no means thick, he is an engineer and spends all of his day taking things apart, re-building and putting back to gether (with no instructions!) but these drawers were silly!

Anyway Kieron lost his temper with it all, he had had enough he had got half way through to find some of the holes weren't drilled in the right places and we hadn't got a drill! In the meantime Argos had arrived with our wardrobes (flatpack), so we left them i nthe hallway, down went the tools and off we went to the cinema to see Iron Man which we had been waiting for!

It's another brillaint film from Marvel Robert Downey Jnr is amazing and they've gone all out with the special effects.

After the film we quickly popped in to mum's to borrow her drill so that Kieron could at least finish the drawers, which he did. We then sat down and had a rest before tidying up a bit. In hte evening we had a curry and we watched tv.

Saturday was another busy day as we were going to put together the wardrobes. As Kieron was getting all the bits out of the boxes i started to clear up some of the cardboard and load it in the car to take down to the tip.

I went down to see mum, nan and grandad as usual whilst Kieron took a break from the wardrobe building. When i got Kieron had done a bit more but due to lack of space in the bedroom he was finding hard to move, so we moved the new wardrobes aside a bit and started to demolish the old ones (which Kieron thoroughly enjoyed!).

I started to load the car up again with bits of wardrobe to take down on Sunday to the tip adn Kieron carried on building. It was soon 8pm and we had finished!! Kieron went and had a shower and i put away our clothes. We went and sat down in the living room to watch tv and had some cheese on toast and then finally went to bed.

Sunday we did bugger all! I took most of the old wardrobes to the tip and then me and Kieron went food shopping. When we came back Kieron played on his xbox and i did some more tidying up. In the evening i went down to nans for tea, Gaz wasn't there as he had gone out. We watched the first half of the Snooker final and then i went home to bed.

Bank Holiday Monday was a great day. The plan was to go with Steve and Natalie and their two kids Lucy and Phoebe to Kings Norton park and have a picnic but due to the weather we had a slight change of plan.

We decided we would go the Navigation pub on the green for a pub lunch and then we would have an indoor picnic for tea.

Me and Kieron went down to the co-op to buy some bits and bobs for the indoor picnic and then went over to Steve and Natalie's. We got Phoebe in her pushchair and off we went. We walked through the park so that Lucy and Phoebe could have a bit of a run around before going into the pub. It actually looks very grotty and old on the outside but its not too bad on the inside. The food is good aswell and very reasonable. We had a natter and a laugh and the kids went outside in the activity playground bit.

We were there a couple of hours and then set off back to Steve and Natalie's. We all had a sit down and a drink and Natalie put the kids to bed. Steve and Kieron set up the xbox and me and Natalie went upstairs to get our fill of the Soaps. After that we had our indoor picnic and sat around chatting for most of the evening. Its was soon 11pm so me and Kieron said our goodbyes and headed back home to bed.

Well i think that just about sums it up for me but before i disappear for some reason i can't leave comments on my shout box from my computer at work so in reasponse to the real Lank all i can say is we must both be really great people if someone wants to impersonate us (hpw do you get around so quickly?)

cheerio :)
